This time we bring the adventures of Mike and Shaly, a couple of Londoners who in his recent trip to Barcelona trust our friends Climb in Catalunya for family one of the most interesting ferrata in Catalonia, It located in the small town of Corcades, just 70 km de Barcelona.
Known as Baumes-Corcades, was inaugurated in the year 2006 and the Center Excursionista de Centelles who deals with exceptional maintenance. further, It was the first ferrata that this family of adventurers and could not have performed better luck, as the guide in charge for this activity was Edgar, a great professional with many years of experience in their backpacks. It is he who tells his adventures:
The activity started as is the custom, with a small briefing on the meeting place; this time taking great coffee and pastries. While we caught the last forces in the morning for intense activity to expect, I explained to Mike Shaly and this is one of the most popular ferrata in Catalonia, mainly because of its proximity to the city of Barcelona but also for its amazing bridge Nepali 69 meters, which we were dying of desire to cross over from the beginning; we must recognize, who had wanted and some "fear" at a time.
Right then and already in the parking, a brief explanation of how it would be the activity using a sketch that is in place. there pWe repair all material, one to one checking that all was well placed, and giving another brief explanation of each utensil is used. Before starting our adventure, family took a picture.
We started to walk a very clear track to guide us through yellow and red marks, direct to the wall; after about 5 O 10 minutes, We arrived at the start of the ferrata of Baumes Corcades.
Then, and ready to start playing the track wearing helmets, a small gesture that many forget but could save your life in a fatal outcome. Alreadyhour if if, The adventure begins!
We started in a vertical section with a small step we heated crash that made us suddenly. Then everything is quieter and we gradually picking up, as we watched our backs the mountains of the Montseny, The Vic and background, the Pyrenees.
Shortly after we arrived to a field in the middle of the forest, from where we could see again the beautiful landscape and where we return to the force with a quick tea for the whole family; It was a cold day and was greatly appreciated.
we walk about 10 minutes and we finally reached the point of continuation of the road. We waited a few meters crossing to reach the long-awaited bridge Nepali 69 meter cross behoove us testing our balance.
And next to the bridge, Shaly and Mike were the latest indications on the different ways that exist to cross.
Once past the adrenaline section, Continued lateral passage, with ups and downs but sections and much simpler.
We arrived at the end to the first possible exit point of the ferrata, but good physical and technical conditions of this family, I threw encourage them to try the next tranche, a more demanding level, K3, to which we dfter a drop and a small road about 10 minutes.
We were breathless, but in the eyes of the whole family a sense of satisfaction is appreciated that left not let them smile.
But still we had not finished. After a gentle walk of about 20 minutes we reached the last stretch of road, a small roof that had to overcome stairs, pass balanced by a bar and a vertical ladder up after that so we did get to the top of the Puig Gordi. Yes now, last stop! What a view so beautiful!
