Let me introduce, My name is Jaume Peiro, I have 19 years and I am passionate about climbing and travel.
I started as a competitor in the Climbing Team Modernization of FEMECV, but gradually my motivation has gradually been formed more by the world of rock, My goal in climbing is currently focused on international projects and trips where continue growing as a climber.
A few years ago my father bought me a magazine climbing, where it appeared an article about Okaïmeden, an inhospitable territory located near the city of Marrakech, in Morocco. I found it amazing what had, They spoke of an unexplored area boulder in the middle of the Moroccan Atlas, with thousands of lines to discover…
I was always curious to know if it was as spectacular as I read in that magazine, so this year I decided to enbarcarme on an expedition where the main objective was to explore the area in search of new projects.
I suggested to my friend Alex join me in this adventure, and he did not hesitate a second to accept. It's been a great expedition partner, A climber is very strong and motivated by bouldering. Together we have opened near 40 new lines in just over a week.
I'm sure Oukaïmeden is the future of bouldering, with incredible potential and a potential expansion really impressive, It is a reference point for climbers from around the world.
This time we stayed at the hotel Aurocher, solo 25 minutes from the climbing sectors.. We have been fortunate to collaborate with Imik Simik, an association that handles the area desarroyo, We rented themselves in the crashpads French Alpinist Center (CAF).
I remember with special fondness the first FA in Oukaïmeden, “Submarine” 7b a high enough, well as many… we could test blocks through eighth grade and some large projects, as Cloud Tower, which are pending for a future not too distant trip.
Oukaïmeden is undoubtedly a spectacular place, and despite being best known for its unique ski resort, one of the few located in African territory, surprised by the incredible reception that offered the locals and treatment so close that they, They are certainly very humble people.
Finally I would encourage all people who dare to come and discover this wonderful area of bouldering, to venture into a new culture and to live an incredible experience they will never forget.
